Marian's Dance Studio. Belmont Historical Society.
I began teaching dance students during my high school years. I started my education at Immaculate Conception School, then Julienne High School and University of Dayton.
I held yearly recitals at various places, such as Greenmont Community Hall, University of Dayton, Dayton Art Institute, Chaminade High School and Dayton Convention Center.
For a few years we participated in the Belmont Days Parade. We had a benefit for AIM for the Handicap for three years and raised over $10,000 for them.
I also teach piano lesson to adults and children. We had success with several competitions including a national dance competition held at the University of Notre Dame.
My husband, Fred Volk, barbered in Belmont for 60 years. We raised three children – Lynn Volk Blanford, Joseph Volk and Ann Volk Wehner. We have 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I am really proud of the Belmont area and the wonderful students we have had the opportunity to teach.
God Bless You,
Marian (Conner) Volk
