There are six parent-taught driver's education options here in Iowa.
Notice: Beginning July 1, 2021, the Parent Taught Driver Education Program will no longer be exclusive for families who homeschool their children. The program will be available to any student, who would otherwise qualify, currently attending a public school, accredited nonpublic school, or who is receiving homeschool education under chapter 299A.
Participation in traditional driver's education programs such as Street Smart do not require a student to be dual-enrolled to participate. These programs may meet at AHS, but they are completely independent of AHS.
FAQ: What counts a school sponsored event for a homeschool student who holds a Work to School Permit?
As long as those activities are within a 25 mile radius, tutor sessions, music lessons, etc. count as school activities or extracurricular activities for a homeschool family.
You will complete the parental consent for approved driving locations that your student carries with them, there you will have an opportunity to list specific addresses of where you allow your student to drive and so I would list those there.
