Enough is Enough

For students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School

Enough wind billowing and blustering and blowing down doors,

leaving in its wake scattered schoolbooks and trampled meal trays.

Enough lightning blitzkrieging through hallways, blazing

briefly, lethally. Enough hail ricocheting off cinder block.

Enough thunder slamming lockers, crashing concrete.

Enough storm clouds blinding the innocent in a haze of screams

and rushing blood. Enough is enough, we say.

Enough gunfire pouring down inside schools. Enough loss.

Enough. Enough.
