Beggar for Love

I’m a beggar for love

And I take what I can get.

You’ll find me at the corner of

Foolish and Still Willing to Try

Shaking an empty cup,

Praying for a single passerby.

Maybe I’ll move to the corner of

Hopeless and Bad Decisions.

I don’t need a lot,

Just what you can spare.

It seems these days,

Not many really care.

So far I’ve had no luck

Because the ones who fill my cup

Tend to leave me with nothing

As soon as they’ve had enough.

That’s why I keep shaking my empty cup,

Wandering these deserted roads,

Knowing I’m not likely to find anyone,

But there’s nothing left to do.

So I’ll keep wandering,

Searching for you.
