Oxygen Therapy: Continue oxygen at 4 L/min via nasal cannula. Titrate to maintain SpO2 ≥ 92%.
Pulmonary Hygiene: Encourage use of incentive spirometer 10 times every hour while awake.
Activity: As tolerated, encourage slow, paced ambulation.
Diet: Regular, as tolerated.
Monitoring: Assess vital signs every 4 hours. Monitor respiratory status and lung sounds regularly.
Patient Education: Educate patient on the importance of completing antibiotic therapy, proper use of bronchodilator, and signs of worsening respiratory status.
Levofloxacin 750 mg PO daily x7 days
Albuterol (ProAir HFA) 90 mcg inhalation via metered dose inhaler, 2 puffs, q4-6 hours PRN for shortness of breath and/or wheezing
