We are learning: how and why birds build nests
So we can: understand the life cycle process; nest to egg to chick
I know I've got it when: I can create and explain the life cycle.
Watch how this Robin creates a nest. Watch to the end (you are allowed to skip in sections).
*Why do you think birds need a nest?
*What kinds of materials does she use?
*Does she have hands to carry it?
*What is she doing with her feet?
*Why do you think the bird chose this shape in her nest?
*Why did she choose this place for her nest?
Once you have completed the video and answered the questions, get out your supplies provided by me from your teacher and watch my two videos for how to build your nests. You will need:-blue cardstock paper-crayons-modeling clay-feathers-glue

Sewing: Running Stitch Baby Bird
Sewing: Running Stitch Baby Bird
We are learning: the running stitch, using a needle and thread.
So we can: outline the shape of a baby bird.
I know I've got it when: I have stitched thread both on top and underneath the outline.
Heart Template <--click for template. Print onto card stock, cut down around the edges, and poke holes with a nail. Finally, tape a string to the back, and dip the other end of the string in glue and pinch it off so it's flat and stiff.

IMG_0371.MOVI've included the burlap sewing square with string attached. I've also included the green yarn string if you wanted to practice sewing the chick. One end is stiff, so tape the other end to the side with a tape edge. I've also included a sewing needle, please return if possible. Thank you!
