Composition: The State Executive Board shall elect the members-one member from each district. The members of the committee shall have served at least one term on the State Executive Board. The members of the committee may not offer for a position on the State Executive Board. The Chairman's position shall be rotated between each district-East, to Middle, to West.
With the State Executive Board prepare/update the candidate qualification form.
With the State Executive Board determine necessary deadlines.
Distribute the Candidate Qualification information (including deadlines) to chapter presidents.
Provide the Candidate Qualification information (including deadlines) to the Technology Committee Chairman for posting on the Tennessee website.
Notify each member filing Candidate Qualification forms of their receipt by the chairman.
Review the Candidate Qualification forms submitted by members prior to presentation to the State Executive Board to determine candidate's eligibility for specific office. (Note: Only those forms completed according to established rules and submitted by the set deadline will be considered.)
Present the prospective slate of officers to the State Executive Board at the designated Board Meeting prior to the State Convention.
Inform the Balloting Committee Chairman as to the slate of officers for preparation of the ballot.
Use Candidate Qualification form of eligible candidates to prepare candidate information for display and/or distribution at the State Convention.
Make formal presentation of all eligible candidates to members at the State Convention.
Candidate Eligibility
A candidate for any state officer shall be:
An active members of her chapter.
Registered and attending the convention at which she is nominated, elected, and installed. (An exception to this ruling shall be effected by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the delegate assembly.
Have held an elected chapter office.
A candidate for President or President-Elect shall have served one (1) term as a chapter president and shall have served at least one (1) term on the respective executive board as an elected officer. The State President and President-Elect shall not hold a chapter office.
A candidate for Vice President for Membership shall have served one (1) term as chapter president and shall have served one (1) term on the respective executive board as an elected officer.
