Hello from the College of Indigenous Studies,

We have exciting news to share—we are now officially known as the College of Indigenous Studies, a change that reflects our commitment to growth, adaptation and dedication to our student's success in the ever-changing higher education world. This shift will be a key topic of discussion during our upcoming face-to-face faculty meeting in mid-August, where we will outline how we plan to continue providing sustained support for your students, campuses, and programs. 

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our NWC, BBC, KUC, and Chukchi campuses. Your warm welcome to us during your commencement activities was truly special and reflective of your unique communities. It was a pleasure to be a part of these events, and I am grateful for the opportunity. 

Faculty, I want to take a moment to acknowledge your hard work and dedication. Thank you for successfully closing your semesters and submitting your grades on time. This year, we collectively set a new record of success—congratulations on this achievement. 

We are all looking forward to and anticipating next year, but in the meantime, enjoy your summer! My husband and I are planning a trip to Washington state to bring home a new puppy to keep our Finnegan company (he needs a buddy), go fishing in Chitna, and just hang out and about enjoying the Fairbanks summer season.

I look forward to talking to you all soon. Remember that my door is always open, and you can always reach me via phone, email, or just by swinging by my office.
