Bark for Schools is a powerful student safety and monitoring tool that works in the background of our Google Workspace accounts. It scans school-issued emails, chats, and saved files to detect potential safety risks such as cyberbullying, threats of violence, or self-harm.
Data Shared: Student school-issued email addresses, and the content of school-associated emails, chats, and cloud drive files. (Note: Bark uses automated scanning and only alerts designated school administrators when concerning content is detected.).
Mandatory/Voluntary: Mandatory for all students using school-issued digital accounts to ensure campus safety.
Data Storage: Encrypted servers hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States.

Educators Handbook is a secure behavioral tracking and incident management system used by designated AISJ administrators and teachers. To record, analyze, and manage student behavioral data and disciplinary actions.
Data Shared: Student name, student ID, demographic information, behavioral incident reports, disciplinary actions taken, and teacher/administrator notes.
Mandatory/Voluntary: Mandatory for internal school administration and student management.
Data Storage: Servers are located in the United States.

Google Workspace is our primary ecosystem for student emails, document creation, and cloud storage. This includes the vetted, secure use of Google Gemini for Education to safely introduce students to generative AI.
Data Shared: Student first and last name, school email address, school-created documents/files, and basic device/browser metadata. (Note: Google states that Workspace for Education and Gemini data is not used to train generative AI models outside AISJ’s domain without permission.).
Mandatory/Voluntary: Mandatory for student communication and digital assignment creation.
