The steps below explain how to install the Schoology app (mostly on iOS) and the basics of using it and making sure you get notifications to the app.
Start by going to the App Store [link to app] or Google Play Store [link to app], search for Schoology in the store, and install the free Schoology app onto your phone:
Once you have installed the Schoology app onto your phone, tap on it to launch it:
To log into AISJ Schoology, tap on the Log in through your school button, and type in Johannesburg. There are two instances of AISJ in the list, please make sure you tap on the one that has the green dot on the right side of it:
Enter your full AISJ email address into the email field, and then the same password as you use for all of the AISJ systems:
The next screen will ask you to authorise your phone to access your Schoology account. Please tap on Approve to continue logging into the app:
Once in the app, you will land in your Course Dashboard, and will have access to all of the Schoology features by tapping on the hamburger menu in the top left corner:
It is very important that you allow your phone to display notifications for Schoology, so that you will see when teachers are adding updates or messages to you.
iOS Instructions (Android below)
Go to Settings > Notifications and then scroll down to find Schoology and then slide to Allow Notification:
Android Instructions
Go to your phone Settings, for example by swiping down from the top left corner, and then tap on Apps & notifications:
Your phone will show Recently opened apps at the top, so you will have to tap on See all apps:
Once you are in the Schoology settings, tap on Notifications and then make sure
Once notifications have been enabled, you will see app badge icons and lock screen notifications on your phone. Once you launch the app, you will see red notification dots in the menu in the top left corner:
