Accessing Home Learning

The Elementary School home learning can be accessed primarily through our existing learning journal platform: Seesaw.

The first tasks will be uploaded throughout the first day of school closure. Students will need to log on to Seesaw using their username and password.

If possible, provide your child with an iPad or tablet with the Seesaw Class app installed. A computer or phone can be used if necessary.

If more than one child must share a single device, you will need to regularly sign out/sign in, however, allowing your device to save the Google usernames and passwords can make this process easier.

Getting Prepared for Home Learning

Before your child starts Home Learning there are some things that parents will need to do:

Talk to your child about why they will be learning at home
Organise lead pencils, coloured pencils, eraser, sharpener, ruler, scissors, glue stick, paper, notebook, markers (& pens Yr 4 & 5)
Decide which device they will use and download the Seesaw app
Organise a work space
Organise a work routine
Decide who will supervise your child and arrange for childcare if needed

Technology Needs

To access home learning you will need to:

Organise an internet-enabled device. An iPad/tablet is easy to use, but a computer or smart phone can be used
Download Seesaw Class apps (or access on the web at seesaw.com )
Locate your child's google username and password provided in the home learning email sent to you for each child

All learning tasks will be provided through the Seesaw app.

Signing in to Seesaw

Seesaw on iPad/Phone

Open the Seesaw Class App (not the family app which parents may already have)
Click the sign in with Google button
Enter your child's Google user name (xxx@ais.edu.sg) and password
The app may ask for permission to use camera and microphone. Please allow this so your child can record their responses.

Seesaw on the web

Go to Seesaw.com and sign in at top right
Click the sign in with Google button
Enter your child's Google user name (xxx@ais.edu.sg) and password
The website may ask for permission to use camera and microphone. Please allow this so your child can record their responses.

Other learning platforms

From time to time, teachers may assign work on other online learning platforms. These will be assigned on Seesaw, and sign in information will be provided.
