Perishables (PER)
Introduction
Perishable goods (such as fruits, flowers and vegetables) are among the commodities carried by air. However, such goods deteriorate over time (especially under extreme temperatures and humidity) and must therefore be handled with particular care. With years of operating experience, Teleport has developed effective handling techniques for chilled and frozen products, providing shippers with optimum, cost-efficient packaging methods.
Perishables (PER) cargo accepted by Teleport type include:
Fruits
Vegetables
Fresh Flowers (Without soil only; potted flowers not allowed)
Meat Products
Seafood
Shellfish
Eggs - limited to D7 only
Pharmaceutical Products
Frozen Food
Perishable goods are time and/or temperature-sensitive items. They require fast and safe delivery to maintain quality and effectiveness.
For each type of perishable good, there are specific shipping requirements. The nature of the item determines how it must be stored. We establish and follow guidelines to maintain the high quality of perishable cargo being shipped, ensuring as little loss as possible throughout the shipping process.
