General
CITES Animal
Refers to animals listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) or Wildlife Conservation Act 2010. Click HERE to check the list of CITES animals.
Non-CITES Animal
Refers to farm animals or any animals not listed in the Convention in International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) or Wildlife Conservation Act 2010.

Non-CITES Animal
Veterinary health certificate dated within seven (7) days of import issued or endorsed by a competent veterinary authority of the country of export certifying that;
The country or part of country or state/district of origin has been free from foot and mouth disease (FMD), anthrax, peste des petits ruminant, lumpy skin disease, sheep/goat pox and swine fever for the past six (6) months immediately prior to export.
The wool, hair or bristles originated from animals that, at the time of shearing, were part of a flock that was not subject to movement restrictions for the control of anthrax.
For wool, hair and bristles from FMD susceptible animals, these products have been processed to ensure the destruction of FMDV in accordance with one of the procedures;
The pelt has undergone industrial washing, which consists of the immersion of the wool in a series of baths of water, soap and sodium hydroxide (soda) or potassium hydroxide (potash), or
Chemical depilation by means of slaked lime or sodium sulphate, or
Fumigation in formaldehyde in a hermetically-sealed container or chamber for at least 24 hours.
The pelt has undergone industrial scouring which consists of the immersion of wool in a water-soluble detergent held at 60-70°C;
Wool has been stored at 4°C for four months, 18°C for four weeks or 37°C for eight days.
In the case of bristles, that the bristles have undergone the following treatment: boiling for at least one hour; or immersion for at least 24 hours in a 1% aqueous solution of formaldehyde.
