Thomas Hunt Morgan

Thomas Hunt Morgan nasceu a 25 de setembro de 1866, em Kentucky, nos Estados Unidos da América, e faleceu a 4 de dezembro de 1945, na Califórnia, também nos Estados Unidos da América. A causa da sua morte foi um infarto. 

Thomas Hunt Morgan foi um zoólogo e geneticista e ganhou o Prémio Nobel em 1933, de Fisiologia ou Medicina, por provar que os cromossomos são portadores de genes. Aos 20 anos formou-se na Universidade de Kentucky.  Morgan iniciou os seus estudos e experimentos na área da embriologia, fisiologia, desenvolvimento ontogenético e desenvolvimento animal. O seu trabalho obteve grande influência na mídia científica e nas premiações que foi o estudo da Drosophila Melanogaster ( mosca da fruta ).

Thomas Hunt Morgan was born on September 25, 1866, in Kentucky, in the United States of America, and died on December 4, 1945, in California, also in the United States of America. The cause of his death was a heart attack. Thomas Hunt Morgan was a zoologist and geneticist, and won the Nobel Prize in 1933, for Physiology or Medicine, for proving that chromosomes are carriers of genes. At the age of 20, he graduated from the University of Kentucky. Morgan began his studies and experiments in the area of embryology, physiology, ontogenetic development, and animal development. His work obtained great influence in the scientific media and in the awards that was the study of Drosophila Melanogaster (fruit fly).
