Isaac Newton nasceu em Woolsthorpe, uma aldeia pequena da Inglaterra, no dia 4 de janeiro de 1643. Nasceu prematuro e logo ficou órfão de pai, com dois anos, quando a sua mãe voltou a casar-se, Isaac foi morar com sua avó.

Foi um físico, astrónomo e matemático inglês. Os seus trabalhos sobre a formulação de três leis do movimento levaram à lei da gravitação universal. A composição da luz branca conduziu à moderna física ótica. Na matemática ele lançou os fundamentos do cálculo infinitesimal.

Isaac Newton was born in Woolsthorpe, a small village in England, on January 4, 1643. He was born prematurely and became an orphan at the age of two when his mother remarried. Isaac then went to live with his grandmother. 

He was an English physicist, astronomer, and mathematician. His work on formulating the three laws of motion led to the law of universal gravitation. His study of the composition of white light contributed to modern optics. In mathematics, he laid the foundations of infinitesimal calculus.
