The Laura Miller Family Resource Center, situated within the main office of the Audrain County Shelter Resource Coalition at 626 E. Summit Street, Suite A, Mexico, MO 65265, is dedicated to assisting clients in navigating services to maintain their housing status. We help clients remain housed by leveraging the Federal Emergency Solutions Grant and the Missouri Housing Trust Fund Grant. Additionally, clients are paired with an ACSRC case manager who supports them in utilizing available resources and skill-building services to stabilize their housing outlook.
In 2023, we helped 37 households with 46 adults and 36 children stay in their homes. These residents received rental and utility assistance and arrears alongside case management to lower their chances of needing assistance again. Additionally, we assisted 25 households with 29 adults and 19 children in securing permanent housing with deposits and rent while they worked with our caseworkers to forge a new path toward stable lifestyles.
Emergency Solutions Grant
Update: As of January 27, 2025, The Department of Housing and Urban Development has not released our funding for the Emergency Solutions Grant. Further notices released by HUD have indicated that the department is uncertain when awarded funds will be available.
We cannot administer funds from this grant unless we raise sufficient local funds to reinstate the program.
The Emergency Solutions Grant is available to assist with utilities that have a disconnect letter and rent for those who have an eviction letter and are facing homelessness and meet the income guidelines.
The Missouri Housing Trust Fund Grant
The Missouri Housing Trust Fund Grant is available to assist with rental deposits, utility deposits, application fees, back utility bills, and first and last months rent for individuals who are literally homeless and meet the income guidelines. For this program, you must move into a new home and be literally homeless.
