“Homeless Has a Name” is a community awareness campaign designed to change how we see and respond to homelessness.
Too often, individuals experiencing homelessness are reduced to a label. This campaign brings humanity back into focus by recognizing each person as an individual with a name, a story, and a path forward.
In rural communities like ours, homelessness is often hidden—but it is real.
When people are seen as “the homeless,” it becomes easier to overlook them.
When people are seen as individuals, it becomes harder to ignore their needs.
This campaign is about:
Breaking stigma
Building empathy
Creating a community that responds with action
The Homeless Has a Name Campaign Launch will introduce a new community-wide awareness initiative focused on dignity, recognition, and the importance of seeing individuals experiencing homelessness as neighbors with names, stories, and potential. This event will bring together community members, partners, and supporters to share how our community can be part of building stronger pathways to stability.
As this effort begins, we hope it encourages other organizations and communities to join in recognizing November as Homeless Awareness Month and to take part in raising awareness about the importance of dignity, compassion, and housing stability.
