We encourage children to think with a Growth Mindset. We all make mistakes and find learning new things difficult at times. If we give up every time something is difficult we cannot achieve our best. By viewing mistakes as an opportunity to learn and get better at something we are developing a positive mindset about the process of learning. Marvellous Mistakes allow us to learn and get better at a new skill.
One of our goals in school is to ensure all pupils have the opportunity to get active and involved in a sport or activity of their choosing. Participation in sport is good for developing all aspects of health and it supports the formation of strong friendship groups.
Active Schools host a wide range of clubs both during the day and out of school. Further information about how to sign your child up for Active School sports and clubs can be found on the Parent Information page.
RSHP stands for Relationships, Sexual health and Parenthood education. This presentation will give information about how it is taught in primary school and what parents can expect from ELC - P7.
Encourage your child to try a club or join a group. If you can, follow up on their learning in Masterclasses; especially if they have developed a new interest or passion.
Talk to your child about RSHP and become familiar with this nation-wide resource.
Be vigilant with social media/device usage and try to model appropriate use. Be mindful of age restrictions. Cyber bullying is now the most common form of bullying and is particularly prevalent over text messaging apps.
