This training aims to support educational settings and individual practitioners to develop their knowledge and skills in relation to Emotion Coaching. Emotion Coaching is an approach to supporting learners with their emotional regulation and uses moments of heightened behaviour to teach learners about more effective responses.
For a short taster of what you can expect from the full training, please watch this 20 minute video.
This was created to support staff working with learners in schools who have not accessed the full Emotion Coaching training but are interested in beginning to use the approach in practice.
This consists of pre-recorded videos which include activities and opportunities for reflection. It is designed to be delivered in a flexible way depending on the needs of the setting. The training is broken into 3 parts, and lasts for approximately 3 hours 30 minutes. The Emotion Coaching training can be accessed by individual practitioners and departments, but the approach works best as a whole-establishment approach. Once you have completed the full Emotion Coaching training, you will receive a minimum of two follow-up coaching sessions, facilitated by the EPS, to help you to reflect on the training and consider the ongoing implementation in your establishment.
To access our full Emotion Coaching training materials, you must explore the implementation planning of this with an Educational Psychologist. This will happen during a Systemic EIC. To find out how to request a Systemic EIC please click here.
