We were delighted with the publication of the refreshed national practice resource “Realising the Ambition: Being Me” in 2020. It confirms Scotland’s commitment to ensuring early earning and childcare is of a high quality and meets the developmental needs of our youngest learners, helping to make Scotland the best place to grow up! Ready Steady Two’s focus on developmental theories and evidence-based practice about high quality provisions for two-year olds aligns with the principles of nurture, relationships and the golden thread of quality experiences, interactions, and spaces for all young children in “Realising the Ambition: Being Me”.
Ready Steady Two! was published in 2019 and builds on the principles of “Building the Ambition” and “Pre-birth to Three”. The content, research, and evidence-based practice in Ready Steady Two! compliments this suite of early years resources for local practitioners, especially in relation to two year olds. Digital copies of the Ready Steady Two! guidance can be accessed by clicking here.
There are short (15 - 20 mins) pre-recorded training videos on three key areas of practice, to supplement the Ready Steady Two! guidance. These are accessible to all early learning and child care settings and childminders within Aberdeen City.
These video presentations with resources and reflection points have been developed for use by whole establishments, or individual practitioners. See below for the links to the training sessions, and the accompanying evaluation forms.
