Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) training provides Pupil Support Assistants and Early Years Practitioners the knowledge and skills to develop and deliver individualised support programmes to meet the emotional needs of learners. Once practitioners have completed the training they will receive the title of ELSA and must engage in on-going supervision to maintain this.
Invitations to apply for ELSA training normally happen annually around May/June, with all HTs being emailed at that time.
Delivery method: 12 training sessions (mixture of online and in-person)
Training time commitment: 33 hours
Follow-up supervision: 6 sessions per year (2 hours each)

Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance training can support establishments, departments, or individual professionals in understanding and meeting the needs of learners whose attendance is impacted by emotional challenges.
Delivery method: 5 pre-recorded videos
Training time commitment: 2.5-3 hours
Follow-up coaching: Minimum of 2 sessions

Emotion Coaching training can support establishments, departments, or individual professionals in understanding and meeting the needs of learners in relation to their emotional regulation.
Delivery method: 1 pre-recorded video
Training time commitment: 5 hours (1 full session or 2 smaller sessions)
Follow-up coaching: Minimum of 2 sessions

Executive Functions are a set of cognitive skills (including working memory, flexible thinking, and self-control) which can impact on a learner's ability to engage in their learning. This training may help to develop an individual practitioner's knowledge of Executive Functions and reflect on how these can be supported in the classroom.
Delivery method: Completion of a workbook including 3 pre-recorded videos
Training time commitment: 3 hours

This training was created to supplement the Ready Steady Two! guidance. It can support establishments or individual practitioners to develop their knowledge around development and key areas of practice when working with learners in early years settings.

Seasons for Growth is a programme for children, young people or adults who have experienced significant change or loss. The EPS offer training to individual practitioners to allow them to become 'Companions' meaning they can run the programme in their setting.
There are usually two opportunities annually to attend this training and two opportunities for re-connector sessions.

This training offer focuses on the learning potential of the teenage brain in adolescence. The training explores some of the key changes that take place in the teenage brain at this time and what we can do as adults to tap into this potential. The training is designed for whole establishments, departments and individual professionals looking to develop their understanding of adolescent brain development and consider how this can be applied to enhance the learning and emotional wellbeing of young people within their setting.
Delivery method: Digital training via ACC Learn. This consists of 4 training videos on the topics of brain development, sleep, risk-taking behaviour, and emotions
Training time commitment: Each training video is approximately 10-15 minutes in length. It is recommended to also allow an additional 10 minutes per session for the associated reflective activities
