It's that time of year again: Annual Report time! The Annual Report is the Department's opportunity to showcase what your Anne Arundel County Firefighters and EMS clinicians have accomplished during a very busy year of running calls, completing training, and delivering excellent customer service to the community. We had a productive and busy 2024 and expect nothing less from 2025. We look forward to serving you in 2025!

Technological Advancements
Integrating technology into public safety is an ongoing focus for our department. The department saw many advances throughout 2024. Additionally, we began the design phase of a new Joint Fire & Police 911 Center, which is scheduled to break ground in 2025. The Fire Department also upgraded to a more advanced radio system that has enhanced communications for all first responders in Anne Arundel County. For more details on the technology advancements, click on the IMD Section of the Annual report.

Community Engagement
Our commitment to the community extends beyond emergency responses. Our Public Information Team has increased our outreach through social media engagement, fire safety education programs, community events, recruitment, and partnerships with local organizations. This year, we reached the most county residents yet through these initiatives. If you want more information on these topics, check out the Public Information page.
Challenges and Resilience
While we celebrate our accomplishments, we also acknowledge the evolving needs of our vast and diverse communities throughout Anne Arundel County. We remain steadfast in maintaining and replacing aging apparatus, fire stations, and equipment to ensure we have the essentials to operate effectively and safely. We are also committed to building upon emergency and support personnel to better meet our county's demands.
Gratitude and Recognition
I extend my deepest gratitude to our firefighters, paramedics, support staff, and volunteers whose dedication makes our department exceptional. I also thank our community partners and County Executive Steuart Pittman for their unwavering support.
Together, we will continue to build upon our successes, learning from the past and striving toward an even safer future. Your trust and support drive us to new heights, and I look forward to serving you in 2025.
There are so many great things happening in our Fire Department. This is just a taste of what we have been doing and the four areas where we have focused our time and energy to provide enhanced EMS and Fire service to everyone in Anne Arundel County.
Sincerely,
Trisha L. Wolford
