Board Meetings are monthly meetings hosted by the WJCL. They're typically on SundaysC7.1 and are held at the school of a current WJCL state officerC7.2. The executive board and state chairs will be present and any member of the WJCL is welcome.
For voting purposes, the WJCL Executive Board is defined to consist of "the State Chair(s), WJCL Officers, and one representative from each affiliated club."B4.1 This means that if you choose to attend a board meeting as a non-officer, you have the chance to become a voice in decisions made by the WJCL. However, if your school does not send anyone (rep or board member) you do not get a vote in business conducted at that meetingB4.2 . Although the constitution dictates that credentials must be submitted for a club representative, a substitute from that school may also be present.B4.2 This "credentials" rule is generally held in loose regard at Board Meetings, and we encourage any club members to attend.
At the meeting, we begin with a Treasury report which is then followed by general business of the WJCL, such as state convention planning, ratification of bylaws, publicity information, the location and time of the next meetingB7.3, and other discussion. Voting, whether for bylaws or vacancy elections, is also an important part of the Board Meeting agenda.
