Amendments to the Constitution

Anyone who is a member of the WJCL can submit amendments to the Constitution to the Parliamentarian. At the December Board meeting, the Parliamentarian will present these proposed amendments for discussion and revision, and after the amendment is finalized, the Parliamentarian will notify all chapters of the amendment at least 15 days before State Convention.^C9.1

At State Convention, your chapter will be required to send at least 2 delegates to the Amendments meeting (unless your chapter only has 1 delegate at convention, in which case they must send only 1 delegate to the meeting). If you do not send the required number of delegates, you forfeit your votes on the Amendment.^C9.3

An amendment is ratified if it receives 2/3 of eligible votes (excluding those of abstention), and the approval of 3/4 of the chapters at the State Convention. ^C9.2
