Great practice today everyone. Everyone got through the course and seemed to be in pretty good shape. Remember that early on it's ok to stop and walk when you feel you need to, but what will make you a better runner in the end is cutting down on the amount of time you take to walk. It is better to stop and walk for 30 seconds and then try your best to run after that, then to walk for 3-5 minutes and run the rest of the way. Everyone will get better, but in the end you are the one that will decide just how much better you will get!
No Practice tomorrow (Wednesday). Try to run anywhere between a mile and a mile and a half. What can help sometimes in picking out 3-4 of your favorite songs that pump you up, and putting them on a playlist on your Ipod and just running till they are done. Remember to stretch before and after your runs to prevent any nagging injuries.
On Wednesday night, be sure to get a good night of sleep after a nice high carb meal (Think Pasta! YUMMMM).
Jerseys will be distributed on Thursday right at 2:45 so be on time and ready for our first race!
