Trade schools offer education and training opportunities that can help launch lifelong careers. Trade school graduates often earn degrees in half the time as their counterparts in traditional colleges. Additionally, vocational students often graduate debt-free and have stable jobs waiting for them after graduation.
This scholarship aims to support current and future tradespeople on their paths toward successful careers in the trades.
Eligibility
Any current trade school student or high school senior who will enroll in trade school after graduation may apply for this scholarship if they’re a legal resident of the United States pursuing plumbing, HVAC, electric, or a closely related field while embodying G.R.I.T. (generosity, respect, innovation, and teamwork).

Missouri S & T Chancellor's Scholarship
Deadline: Must APPLY for admission to Missouri S & T no later than November 14, 2025.
Must submit scholarship application by deadline of December 1, 2025.
Award: This highly competitive scholarship of $13,000 per year will be awarded to 20 students. This would be a revised scholarship offer and will supersede any other offer that was provided by admissions. Bright Flight would still stack with this scholarship if eligible.
Eligibility for the Chancellor’s Scholarship is met by fulfilling the following criteria:
Have a GPA of 3.75 or better after six semesters.
Take the ACT (or SAT) test before December 1, 2025, and receive an ACT superscore of 31 or higher or a SAT superscore of 1390 EBRW or higher.
Be a resident of the state of Missouri.
Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. permanent resident.
Be a spring 2026 high school graduate.

Cooke College Scholarship Program
Deadline: November 12, 2025
The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation’s best four-year colleges and universities.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Senior standing - Plan to graduate from a U.S. high school in Spring 2026
Fall College Enrollment – Plan to enroll full-time in a baccalaureate program at an accredited college or university in fall 2026.
GPA – Have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.75 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
Financial Need – Demonstrate unmet financial need. We will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000. During the selection process, the Foundation will conduct a full financial review which will take into account all income and assets of the student and the student’s parents.
No previous enrollment at a four-year institution – Students who have completed the equivalent of one semester (or more) at a four-year institution in the past are not eligible for this scholarship.
Program Experience
Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational experience – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships they may receive. This highly competitive scholarship includes:
Up to $55,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school.
Ability to pursue any area of study.
Personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid.
Multifaceted advising about how to transition to college and maximize the student experience.
Two Academic Recommendations: A complete application includes two academic recommendations which will be submitted through Common App. One recommendation must be from an 11th grade teacher in a core academic subject (English/language arts, mathematics, social studies/history, science, or foreign language). A second recommendation can come from another core subject teacher or professor who has worked with you any time since ninth grade. Both recommenders should be well-acquainted with your academic performance and character, and should be able to discuss your progress through class curriculum, challenges you faced, how you overcame them, and your overall academic engagement.
One Counselor Recommendation: In addition to your academic recommendations, you are required to submit one counselor recommendation from your high school counselor through the Common App. If there is no Counselor at your school, you may list your principal or other school official, international or domestic, who has overseen your academic progress. You will also be required to invite this person to complete the School Report on the Recommenders and FERPA section located on the My Colleges tab.
School Report: A School Report or School Profile is a document from your school, usually from the school counselor’s or registrar’s office, that includes information about the student body, the types of classes offered by your school, and other important data on the offerings available there. In Common App, the application requires that you invite your school counselor to submit this document to your application portal.
Transcripts: You must submit unofficial transcripts and self-report your courses/grades accurately in Common App. If you are chosen as a semifinalist, we may request an official copy of your transcript later in the review process.
Test Score(s): You must submit standardized test score(s) from one of the following: SAT, ACT, AP, or IB exam. There is no minimum score requirement to apply, however, applicants must have taken one (or more) of these tests and submit the score.

American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program "A Constitutional Speech" Contest

The American Legion Oratorical Contest exists to develop deeper knowledge and appreciation for the U.S. Constitution among high school students. Since 1938, the program has presented participants with an academic speaking challenge that teaches important leadership qualities, the history of our nation’s laws, the ability to think and speak clearly, and an understanding of the duties, responsibilities, rights and privileges of American citizenship
Young orators earn some of the most generous college scholarships available to high school students. Over $203,500 in scholarships can be awarded each year. The overall national contest winner gets a $25,000 scholarship. Second place takes home $22,500, and third gets $20,000. Each department (state) winner who is certified into and participates in the national contest’s first round receives a $2,000 scholarship. Those who advance past the first round receive an additional $2,000 scholarship. The American Legion’s National Organization awards the scholarships, which can be used at any college or university in the United States.

THE ANDREW FLUSCHE UNDERGRAD SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST

Award: The winner receives $500 to put towards higher education
The Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest requires students to raise awareness about different legal issues. Applicants must create a public service advertisement video (PSA) about how to share the road with pedestrians and bicyclists.
ELIGIBILITY:
United States citizens or lawful residents who are:
Accepted into a U.S. college, university, graduate school, or trade school.
Enrolled in a U.S. college, university, or trade school.
GUIDELINES:
We want to see how creative and convincing you can be with your video. Make sure it is geared toward your peers. Videos can be technical, narrative, documentary, fiction or any other video style you can think of. Video selfies will not be considered. Be creative! The video must be your original creation
VIDEOS WILL BE JUDGED ON:
Your PSA will be judged on the level of creativity and persuasiveness, as well as how informative it is.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Follow these directions precisely. Incomplete or incorrect applications will be disqualified.
Create your video and make sure it is no longer than TWO minutes.
Upload your video to YouTube.
In the YouTube description of the video, include a link to this page.
Once your video has been uploaded, fill out the Application Form at the bottom of this page. Be sure to complete all fields AND attach proof of acceptance or enrollment at your higher education school.

The National Honor Society Scholarship

The application for the 2024 NHS Scholarship is now open!
Since 1946, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has awarded more than $25 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS seniors. This year, we are awarding $2 million in scholarships to 600 students. Each year, scholarship recipients are selected based on their demonstration of the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
To be eligible, students must be:
A high school senior expecting to receive a high school diploma during the current academic year
An active member in good standing of an NHS chapter, meeting all membership requirements and obligations of the local chapter
An NHS student account holder, verified by the NHS chapter adviser
Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. college or university

Hagan Scholarship
Application opens: September 1, 2025

Award: Up to $60,000 (Undergraduate)
For the 2025 – 2026 Academic Year.
Applicant must create a Username and Password to access the Application.

Applicant must provide a personal email address that will be valid for one year.
The Application Link and Scholar Portal Link are different. Only Hagan Scholars can access the Scholar Portal.

Finalists eligible for but not awarded a Hagan Scholarship will receive $2,000.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
2. Must attend an Eligible Public High School.
3. Must have achieved a 3.50 Cumulative Grade Point Average.
4. Must enroll at an Eligible Four-Year College or University the first semester following high school graduation.
5. Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule in college.
6. Must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to each fall semester in college. Employment must be regularly scheduled work performed under supervision for compensation.
7. Applicant’s Household Income reported for Federal Income Tax Purposes must not exceed $85,000.
8. Must provide a complete copy of the FAFSA SAR showing the EFC.
9. Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.
10. Must not have a felony conviction.
The intended recipient of a Hagan Scholarship is a high-achieving goal driven student having a genuine financial need in order to attend college.

Americanism Essay Contest

FRA sponsors an annual essay contest to promote the spirit of Americanism and patriotism among our country’s youth. FRA's Americanism Essay Contest is open to all students, grades 7 through 12, including those who are home schooled. Students are invited to submit a 350-word essay through an FRA member or local FRA branch before the December 1st deadline. Local winners are forwarded for competition at the regional level and regional winners compete for national prizes.
The grand national winner receives $1,500. Other winners receive $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place, and $500 for third place. Each national winner will receive an attractive plaque citing his/her achievement, and every entrant judged at the national level receives a certificate of recognition. Prizes may be awarded to students winning at local and regional levels of competition.
