Voc Rehab

The mission of the Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services is to work for and with individuals who have disabilities to achieve their employment, independence and economic goals. To find out more, visit their website at http://www.ivrs.iowa.gov/index.html.

WHS students with disabilities may be eligible to receive services from Voc Rehab during their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year of high school. Traditionally, a representative may offer students to explore career options or educational opportunities, job placement assistance or help with assistive technology that may help an individual be successful in the workplace. Students who are eligible are encouraged to do an original intake meeting before the end of their Junior year.

To see if you would be eligible for services, contact your counselor.

Ann Birnbaum, the Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services Representative, works with WHS students on campus during her set business hours. To arrange a meeting with her, visit the counseling office to be placed on Ann's schedule. To schedule a meeting outside of her business hours at the High School, you may call the Iowa City office at 319-354-4766.
