The team focuses on data collection, analysis, communication, school partner engagement, and projects for continuous improvement. They support all UMN Twin Cities teacher licensure programs across the college and campus.
Annie Jenkin LaVanway is the Continuous Improvement Coodinator and is responsible for assisting programs with new program proposals and program renewals (PERCAs and RIPAs), facilitating unit and programs' administrative rule and standards work, and assisting programs in developing and assessing their continuous improvement goals.
We gather assessment and survey data from and about teacher candidates from the beginning of their program through program and teacher education licensure completion. In addition, the Office of Teacher Education (OTE) follows new teachers into their first few years of teaching. When a teacher candidate exits the program (for any reason), Licensure program leads must report this using the OTE form "When Students Leave" to ensure Teacher Ed Management System records and PeopleSoft are updated.
Requests for OTE data outside of the regularly reported programmatic information require a Data Request Form. For IRB Approved Research use this request form. For program improvement data requests, use this request form. This form ensures all FERPA and Human Subjects rules and regulations are met. If you have questions, contact Jamie Utt-Schumacher.
