To better serve you, the Office of Teacher Education (OTE) staff are organized in four teams: (Clinical Partnerships and Placements, Licensure Student Support, Continuous Improvement and Accountability, and Administrative Support). OTE's organization chart provides additional information about each individual's role and responsibilities.
OTE staff collectively provide operational leadership and support across the University for initial and additional teacher licensure program area faculty, staff, teacher candidates, and cooperating school professionals. OTE works across the College and University in support of the teaching, research, outreach, and accreditation goals specific to the development of pre-service teacher candidates and school-based professionals in district/school clinical preparation partnerships. The administrative unit’s overall goals are strengthening and continuously improving:
initial and additional licensure advising and communication to support program advising and licensure application requirements for teacher candidates;
job-specific support for Licensure Program Leads (LPL) and Clinical Supervisors of teacher licensure programs;
clinical partnerships and placements of teacher candidates, including payments of cooperating teacher stipends and contracts;
teacher candidate mentoring during clinical support with school partners, including specific teacher professional development for co-teaching and other areas of focus;
program development support for new and/or revised licensure pathway development with school partners; and
data collection for continuous improvement in teacher education, program accountability (PELSB), and unit approval for all initial and additional licensure programs.
