Happening @ Michigan is the university-wide events system, where users can browse and search for events happening throughout campus. This calendar system is full of events sponsored by registered student organizations and university departments/units. Registered groups can post their events in this public system.

If you're holding an online event, make sure everyone who attends can participate.
Online meetings: a selection of tips from the College of Engineering Accessibility First Aid Kit for making online meetings accessible.
Presentations: Tips for accessible presentations, also from the Accessibility First Aid Kit.
Online events: The University Libraries had a great, straightforward set of guidelines for making sure your event can be accessed by those who want to attend.
If your department wants to announce an event, the vehicle is the event announcement. These go to local press. We do these when the event is:
open to the public AND
on a topic that is relevant to public discourse and/or current events AND
a big deal for the department (not just an annual thing) AND/OR
is inherently newsworthy
Some examples:
Townhalls/Q&A panels
Screenings of films (followed by panel discussion)
Building/facility openings
