Happening@Michigan events system

Happening @ Michigan is the university-wide events system, where users can browse and search for events happening throughout campus. This calendar system is full of events sponsored by registered student organizations and university departments/units. Registered groups can post their events in this public system.

Accessible virtual events

If you're holding an online event, make sure  everyone who attends can participate.

Online events: The University Libraries had a great, straightforward set of guidelines for  making sure your event can be accessed by those who want to attend.

Newsworthy Events

If your department wants to announce an event, the vehicle is the event announcement. These go to local press. We do these when the event is:

• open to the public AND

• on a topic that is relevant to public discourse and/or current events AND

• a big deal for the department (not just an annual thing) AND/OR

• is inherently newsworthy

Some examples:

• Townhalls/Q&A panels

• Screenings of films (followed by panel discussion)

• Building/facility openings
