Teacher Candidates

Mr. Ho trains teacher candidates or student teachers how to teach Math at LPCI.  The following is a list of Mr. Ho's teacher candidates or student teachers.

Eric Huang is a teacher candidate from Nipissing University's Schulich School of Education.  He worked with Mr. Ho from October 10th, 2023 to November 10th, 2023 at LPCI to complete his fourth practicum of learning and teaching. 

Despite being born in Canada, Eric Huang grew up in rural Taiwan.  After moving to Canada during a turbulent period of his life, he finally settled in Vancouver to attend McRoberts Secondary, participating in the First Aid team, Electronics, and English Clubs. Coming over to Toronto to attend the University of Toronto for Mathematics and Economics, Mr. Huang proceeded to the teacher’s college at Nipissing. In his free time, he enjoys several hobbies: Go, Chess, several video games, and an assortment of literature, including but not limited to The Federalist Papers and Manga.

Russell Lau is a student teacher from Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute (LPCI). He worked with Mr. Ho on the Grade 12 Switch Day on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, as part of the teacher-student swap spirit day at LPCI.

At school, his activities included participating in the CEMC math contests, playing percussion with Lawrence Park's music ensembles, and participating in the robotics club and the coding club. He planned to pursue an engineering degree and a career in STEM. He also enjoys playing music, making origami, watching anime, playing hockey, and learning Mandarin and Japanese in his free time. 

At the end of the Grade 12 Switch Day on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, Russell Lau won two certificates of recognition: Best Lookalike and Most Likely to Be Hired.
