It is in shambles, it is broken.
This family is now a decaying mess, a mulch of malice and self pity.
My father abandoned her, so what do I say to her?
Memories of happiness and harmony fill her dreams,
Only experiencing these in REM.
She wakes and all she sees is hate, and wishes she’d never woken.
My rage doesn’t benefit her.
But I am sitting, watching as her innocence vanishes.
I’ll sleep, I’ll dream.
I’ll dream that I am bigger, stronger, more significant,
And I go to war for her there.
I want to destroy what is there to harm her.
I can’t fix her broken innocence,
All I can do is get to work, with hammer and nails.
One after another, nail this house back together.
Making it a home.
There will be hope for happiness and harmony,
As long as I have my hammer and nails.
