I often miss your stubborn ways,
And often long to make you realize,
But then I recall certain thoughts
That alleviate my ongoing pain.
The left ear that was much too large,
Your materialistic ways,
The snaggle-tooth smile that rarely appeared,
Your recurring muffin top at the lake,
The expensive car that wasn’t earned,
Much like your family’s pride
You flunked out of a private university,
Resorting to lesser means,
That you know, and I, both know
Will never, ever achieve your shallow dreams.
