Editor's Note:
To open, I would like to answer the biggest question about Speechless: Why the change to online? In past years, Speechless has been published into a book. Physical copies were then distributed and sold to the public. Now, many other forms of art and writing are open to be used online. It now allows for film, music, and other visual representations of writing. New content can be added more often than what would be possible in one publication per year. Also, Speechless will be archived to be looked back upon in the future. Unlike the editions of previous years, 2013’s speechless is open to many more possibilities.
On a more personal side, writing this note really makes me realize where I am in life. In less than a month, I will be moving to a bigger city to attend college. It has been my first time working with most of the students in this year’s creative writing class. There are a few I have worked with in previous years, some during all three years. To those I have worked with, new and old, the ones who have graduated and the ones who will still be here after I leave, I want to thank you all. It has been an honor working with you. I hope to keep in touch with most of you, but in all honesty this class was my last time seeing you guys. To those who are not graduating this year, be in Creative Writing for the years to follow. To other students reading this, take creative writing. My biggest thank you goes to Mr. Cutler, who not only taught creative writing, but kept Speechless going. My last year would not be the same without it.
With all this said, I present to you 2013’s speechless. Inside lies not only stories, but memories from those I will never forget, and lives I will forever be touched by.
