Introduction
Are you ready to take a tour of Central China? You're going to learn all about the Red Panda! Come on hop on the Trolley! Bring your friends, All aboard!
Physical Characteristics
Before we jump right into the process, keep all arms, legs, and feet into the Trolley, at all times, thank you. The length of the Red Panda is about 42 inches long or, 3 feet 6 inches. Also, the scientific name for Red Panda is Ailurus Fulgens, other names are Fire Fox, Fire Colored Cat, and of course Red Panda. It’s classified as a mammal. It only weighs 14 pounds as full mature adult. They also have long bushy tails for climbing big trees.They weigh 5% of the Giant Panda! Their fur color is very unusual,a orange red brown.
Habitat
The Red Panda’s climate is cool and temperate. It lives near the Asian Mountains because of its cool temperature. It also lives near Central China, it romes many other places also, like Nepal, Myanmar (Burma), and the Eastern Himalayas. All these places are cool and temperate for the Red Panda. By the way, did you know Red Pandas spend 75% of their time in trees?
Young
Young Red Pandas often eat a little bit different from the adult Red Pandas just because they need to learn to eat especially when they are just born, they usually eat Acorns, Berries, Bird Eggs, Mice, or Lizards. But whenever they are just born they usually eat the easy stuff like Acorns and Berries. And did you know young Red Pandas have more white on the face because their colors haven’t grown in yet. Young are not born out of eggs because they are mammals.
Adult
Next stop,the adult Red Pandas! Adult Red Pandas are Omnivores so they eat both meat and plants, did you know Red Pandas only digest a quarter of the food they swallow. Pretty weird huh? They also have cat like reflexes so they pounce on their prey. Also, the Red Pandas predators are “Birds of Prey”, Snow Leopards, and, Martens. Their related species are, Giant Pandas, Black Bears, Polar Bears, Brown Bears, and Koalas.
