As you walk through the busy park you stop to look at some sort of “rainbow duck”a you start to wonder this about it well grab some bread crumbs and I’ll tell you all about it !
Physical Characteristics
The Anas Platyrhynchos or (more commonly known as) the Mallard Duck is a bird with a dark sea green head. With a length of 57 cm (22.4 in) and a weight of 1.6-3.5 for the male as for the female 49 cm (19.3 in) in length and a weight of 1.6-3.5 also.
Habitat
The mallard’s habitats include lakes,marshes,streams,rivers,and ponds also all together known as wetland that are located in North America, South America, Central America ,Asia , Australia,and New Zealand.
Diet
The Mallards diet contains plants and grains which they eat as it is needed they are prey to snow owls, snakes, and four legged predators such
as foxes,wolves,and many more.
Young
The little mallard is born by egg so the mother has to incubate 9-13 eggs for 20-26 days they look fluffy and yellow with a black stripe down the middle they eat leafy greens and also bugs, YUCK!
