History of Life on Earth INQUIRY Activity
Directions : Work in groups of two. Make sure both members names are on the very end of your timeline.
Each group should draw a time line. One inch will equal 100,000,000 years ( write small.) On the time line, label the major eras (Precambrian, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Cenozoic), and periods of the Paleozoic and Mesozoic. Also on the timeline, identify the 5 major mass extinctions that have happened in earth’s history. This information is in Ch 15 in your text or on-line. You will have to tape 5 sheets of paper together (lengthwise).
On the time line, write (indicate) when the following organisms first appeared:
