Music Theory

Course Description

This class will cover the terminology and function of printed, traditional music notation.  Units include identifying pitches in all clefs, rhythms, time and key signatures, major and minor scales, modes, intervals and chords, and melodic and rhythmic dictation.  There will be written and aural components to this class to train both music-reading and music-listening skills.  Students will also compose music to implement theory concepts.  This class is for those that want to dig deeper into the why and how of music.

This class will not be running for the 2025-2026 school year.
