Music Through Film

Course Description

This course covers the fundamentals of music through film soundtrack listening and analysis. Units of instructions include instrument families, the basic and advanced elements of music, sound effects, functions of film scoring, film composers, and film score evaluation. Students will develop vocabulary for describing and critiquing film music. This course will include classroom discussion, critical listening, and evaluation of film scores while viewing a wide variety of movies throughout the semester.

This course is is one-semester course earning .5 credits.
