7th-Grade Band
7th-Grade Band is a class that meets every THIRD day, on rotation A day, for 42 minutes. This group is made up of 7th graders who have played an instrument for at least one year or are just starting out. Each student is responsible for practicing at home. Practice logs are due every other week. Students should be practicing for at least 30 minutes each week.
Students also receive 10 participation points in each class. Points are deducted for a forgotten instrument (-10), forgotten music (-2) or lack of participation. Students can make up forgotten lesson points by practicing an extra 30 minutes at home. Students must attend TWO concerts during the school year. This is a graded class and all students will receive an A, B, C, D or F grade. See below for the class expectations and performance dates.
