1. New Metrohm IC is purchased and arrived here today. It will be shipped to Victoria ASAP, the installation is scheduled for May 15th. Lisa B will be there to oversee the setup and learn the new software and operation. Training will be conducted during EXP341 portcall for the oncoming technical staff, Rachael and Erik.
Dionex IC will remain onboard for EXP341.
2. All computer upgrade went well onboard.
3. GC2 is the only instrument that the software is not compatible with Window 7. And the software for autosampler is not working. So operation of GC2 has to be manual. There is no request of running PFT tracer for neither EXP341 or 346.
4. The ICP reduction software is now working with the new Window operating system.
5. New balances are installed onboard; the software is an upgrade from the old Cahn balance software. It was tested working properly.
6. N2 generator is back online with 2 new oil traps inline. We would like to see another oil trap maybe put inline in the chemistry lab. We are in the processing evaluating adding an O2 sensor/monitor inline for the N2 generator
7. The 2 new GCs are installed here on shore. The vendor representative came and worked on method development. Since we have not received the custom gas standard A, B, C, and D, we will schedule the rep to come back continuing method development once we have our standard.
8. All pipetters were here and calibrated and are in shipment back to ship. They will be entered into AMS as property for future tracking purpose.
9. A temporary chemtech was interviewed and will be hired for EXP346 after Bertoli’s departure.
