The Preliminary SAT (PSAT) is not just a practice test for the SAT, it's also a tool to help you understand your college readiness. Understanding your strengths and areas for improvement can be a great tool to finding success. In addition, juniors who take the PSAT can be entered into the National Merit Scholarship Program. The PSAT is administered to all Pierson 10th and 11th graders free of charge during the school day each October. Approximately six weeks after your test, you'll receive a detailed score report explaining how you did.

To better understand your PSAT score, talk to your counselor or watch the video below. There is also a sample downloadable sample score report attached to this page that you may find helpful. To learn more about the PSAT please visit The College Board's website  and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
