3R's Improvement

This area relates to the Foundations Learning Model and covers the development work which in NZ was known as Schooling Improvement. Specifically this relates to the development of Reading, Writing and Mathematics with a view to raising student achievement outcomes. In this Decile 1A context this involves accelerated learning so that students who enter the compulsory schooling sector at an average performance level of stanine 1.2 are able to reach the New Zealand mean (approx. stanine 5) in these three subject areas by the end of their 6th year of schooling.

To date, Pt England School has learned to achieve this goal in Reading and Maths and is still learning to accomplish this in Writing.
