Julia Alcalá

Julia is currently majoring in Environmental Science with a biology minor and also pursuing the ITECK certificate. From the dry desert heat of Southern California, where her love for ecology began at community college, Julia has decided to switch gears to the more dense and lush forested environment of the PNW to finish undergrad. Her educational experience has given her a chance to explore the relationships between plants and other species. She is currently working on a project surrounding cultural burning practices in the PNW and has previously worked on a project about pollinator interactions with their ecosystem in Southern California. Outside of her studies, she enjoys teaching herself herbalism and nutrition, being outdoors, and bird watching.
