Understanding of Number - fractions, decimal fractions and percentages; All applications related to year 10 Number knowledge
Data Visualisation - Knowledge of how to read and Interpret different graphs in real life situations- line graphs, bar graphs, percentage bar graphs, histograms, pie graphs and circular graphs.
Central Tendencies Knowledge of how to calculate the mean, median and mode from the given data.
Algebra skills: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division of Algebraic expressions, Expansion of binomials, Basic Factorisation, solving linear equations and simple applications to real life situations.
Geometry: Knowledge of line and angle geometry, parallel lines, properties of triangles and quadrilaterals.
To excel in this course, you should be ready to demonstrate and develop the following skills:
Semester 1:
Multivariate Data Analysis - Reading and analysing numeric and categorical data using the multivariate data analysis and preparing a related report.
Bivariate Data Analysis - Reading and analysing numeric data using the bivariate data analysis and preparing a related report.
Simulation - designing a simulation for a given situation by using online tools after defining a trial and deciding the number of trials. After carrying out the simulation, you will be recording the outcomes, selecting and using appropriate displays and measures and communicating the findings in a report with a conclusion.
Time Series Data Analysis - Reading and interpreting time series graphs to answer relevant questions
Semester 2:
Algebra - Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division of Algebraic expressions, Expansion of binomials, Quadratic factorisation, linear equations, word problems, quadratic equations and related word problems, applications of formulae to expand and factorise, simultaneous equations, linear algebra.
Geometry - properties of lines, angles, triangles, parallel lines quadrilaterals, the use of Algebra in Geometry and the applications of geometric properties to real life situations.
