- Fact: a statement that can be proved true or false

- Opinion: a statement that tells a person's thoughts, feelings, or ideas. Opinions cannot be proved true or false. Opinions may be either valid or faulty. Valid opinions are supported by facts or are stated by experts. Faulty opinions are not supported by facts, experts, or logic; they might be based on a false statement of fact.

- Word Endings: -ed, -s:

- ed: added to verbs to make it past tense

- s: added to verbs to show present action in third person

- Appropriate Phrasing: group related words together so that they sound the way they would in natural speech. Follow the cues of punctuation as you read, pausing at commas or stopping at the end-of-sentence marks.
