Figurative Language
Similes - comparing 2 nouns (person, place, or thing) that are unlike, with "like" or "as"
Metaphors - using 2 nouns and compare or contrast them to one another, not using "like" or "as"
Onomatopoeia - the use of words that sound like the noises they describe
Personification - giving an animal, object, or idea human qualities, such as the ability to hear, feel, talk, and make decisions
