Blue Waters Webinar Series

Post date: Feb 13, 2017 6:39:44 PM

Blue Waters is providing a series of free webinars throughout the year. Details about the sessions can be found at https://bluewaters.ncsa.illinois.edu/webinars.

The webinars will be conducted every Wednesday, with a few exceptions to avoid conflicts with such events as the Blue Waters Symposium, PEARC17 and SC17 Conferences. Most sessions will be an hour in length, although a few of them will go longer. Each session will start at 8 AM Pacific - 9 AM Mountain - 10 AM Central - 11 AM Eastern - 4 PM GMT.

All sessions will be broadcast on Youtube live, and recorded for playback. To receive the Youtube live web address for each webinar, please register for each webinar. All sessions are free and open to anyone. Participants will be able to pose questions using NCSA's Blue Waters Slack.

Participants may join the webinars from their own web-enabled device, although we encourage people to meet together as a group to promote active discussions among the local participants.

The following tracks are offered:

    • PETASCALE APPLICATION IMPROVEMENT DISCOVERY

        • The Blue Waters Petascale Application Improvement Discovery - Improvement Method Enablers track will target the introduction of new, fundamental application approaches, and optimization of applications, to increase the knowledge of and use of "best practices" for highly scalable computing and data analysis.

    • SCIENTIFIC WORKFLOWS

        • The scientific workflows track will address computational and data proessing tools and approaches for addressing reliable and reproducible discovery processes.

    • SCIENTIFIC VISUALIZATION

        • The scientific visualization track will address the art, tools, and resources for representing data graphically to gain understanding and insights into its meaning.

We welcome suggestions for topics that will benefit the petascale community. Send your suggestions to help+bw@ncsa.illinois.edu.

This seminar series is being conducted in collaboration with numerous organizations including the members of the International HPC Training Consortium.
