Charging fees from students is much more popular within the committees than charging fees from employers.
Fees can vary depending on the programme type: Exchange Programme Internships, Global Internships and Reserved Internships.
Sometimes committees struggle with explaining to students what they get in return. In fact, they receive, besides the internship experience as such, IAESTE service in the form off:
Access to the global pool of internships
Guidance and support in preparing their application documents
Managing the interaction between them and the employers (hosting organisation)
Guidance and support in the visa/work-permit related process
Support with finding accommodation abroad
Intercultural onboarding
Local support during their internship
Many committees don't charge any fees from the employers. Those who charge differentiate between the employer type (eg. University, big/small companies, start-ups etc).
The table below presents different types of fees. The fee policies in the committees often combine different fee types. For the students’ fees, the most common are combinations: registration fee & acceptance fee; registration fee & nomination fee; only nomination fee; nomination or acceptance fee & deposit.
