Glastonbury Regional AgriScience
National FFA Convention
About the 2024 National FFA Convention
This is the 97th annual National FFA Convention. For 2024, the convention is being held in Indianapolis, Indiana. The purpose is to help students develop important college and career leadership skills to help with their personal growth and to bring back to their local FFA chapters.
Those who apply and are accepted will represent not only the Glastonbury Regional AgriScience program but also the greater Glastonbury community as a whole. They will be part of the State of Connecticut’s allotted student representation.
Student participants will have the opportunity to create lasting friendships, develop leadership skills, and enjoy unique experiences.
Convention Dates
October 22nd-26th
Current Status
Applications for the October 2024 National FFA Convention are now closed.
Eligibility
Current freshman, sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply.
Participating students must be enrolled in the minimum required AgriScience credits including AgLeadership and be active members of FFA.
Participants must be in good academic and behavioral standing in order to qualify for the trip.
It is the students’ responsibility to make up all missed work in a timely fashion, to communicate with their teachers before and after the trip regarding school work and days missed, and to be an ambassador representing Glastonbury High School.
Trip Expenses
The estimated cost of the trip is $1,400. This includes transportation, registration fees, and housing. Additionally, students will need to wear full official dress for multiple activities and will need to bring money for on-site meals and any souvenirs they may wish to purchase.
Fundraising efforts have already begun by students in FFA as well as by our Friends of the FFA chapter. We encourage all students to participate in any fundraising events so we can potentially lower the cost to families and assist those who may need it.
Please reach out to Director of Career Technical Education Liz Cole at ColeE@Glastonburyus.org if you have concerns regarding funding and participation.
